The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) is a not-for-profit membership-based association that develops standards for business, industry, government and consumers in Canada and the global marketplace. The CSA’s Installation Code for Oil-Burning Equipment (B139-09) oversees the minimum requirements for installing or altering oil-burning appliances, equipment and components—and this code requires homeowners to have their tank inspected annually. Columbia Fuels is the only company on Vancouver Island that offers annual inspections to residential customers. Reduce the risk of a costly leak and environmental damage. You can count on one of our equipment specialists to inspect your oil tank every year.
If you suffer from allergies and sinus problems, did you know that dirty furnaces and ducts could be worsening these conditions by spreading airborne contaminants throughout your home? Changing your filter is not enough: even the most expensive filters can't possibly catch all allergy-causing contaminants (e.g. mold). The problem with accumulated dust is that it gets shaken up by the moving parts and vibration inside your furnace and then blown out into the air. Having your furnace and ducts professionally cleaned will minimize the number of airborne particles and improve your air quality—particularly if there’s a smell every time you turn on the furnace, you’ve had a recent fire or flood, the air vents are discoloured, or you recently renovated. Extend the life of your heating system, maximize efficiency and potentially reduce your fuel bills by investing in our furnace and duct cleaning service.
